I am not an artist or extremely talented like you. I am only in this industry to solve problems. If it is a challenge to get the money to make one's film, we will help filmmakers get the money. If there is a problem in getting it out to the public, we will also help in that respect, as well.
We don't consider ourselves rebels, revolution usually only puts another group of people in power, and power corrupts. We are interested in evolution, rapid evolution.
We may not make the greatest movie ever made, or the most artistic, but we will definitely make some of the most important. We are not interested in Art for Art's Sake, but as you mentioned, Art for Humanities Sake.
PS- making my own indie right now. A REAL indie! We have lots of friends in common (and we worked together on "The Affair" briefly). Will let you know when it's done.
Jennifer, my wife and I watched Fresh Kills about a couple weeks ago, I liked it a lot and my wife loved it and recommended it to a few of her colleagues and her family. It is very nice seeing your HFF takeover.
