I had a glitch this morning. My apologies if you’ve received this twice.
I’ve been trying to outline why we need a N-DCEPTA. I’ve been trying to help you build both your creative and business practice in this transformative moment. I’ve also been trying to provide the seeds for a new model of distribution for this current era. That’s what today’s post is really all about. The latter point: the new model. To that end, I’ve already provided you with a few recommendations.
Remember:
The details matter. Forgetting the details of what really is needed to have a system that works for things we love is how we let it all rot in the first place. You have to keep the attributes of it all in mind. Be it of cinema, or just the indie of it all. Or theatrical.
And don’t forget the attributes. We need to keep them in mind:
Have you forgotten what made you fall in love initially? With cinema? With exhibition? With development? With making? With process? With practice? With loving that you love? With our becoming?
To start with designing recommendations and tactics for non-dependent distribution, I first encouraged a mind set, then I recommended you to slow down. I suggested you pack your bags with necessary initial questions. And then I nudged you to expand your mindset with a few concepts. Okay maybe not just a few, but 50.
And now you may be ready for recommendations and tactics. If I supplied these too early, you may not have understood their utility. You still may not. Nonetheless, let’s dig in, shall we? Some of these will be a tad familiar as some have a foot in both the concept and the tactic stage. So be it. At least for now.
